New Member / equipment exchange question.

Hello I am a new member here. A good friend of mine recommended the site.

Based in northern Ontario, very involved in fishing, hunting and most things outdoors. Looking forward to reading and engaging in the forums.

Looking for some info or direction to a post that explains how to unlock the equipment exchange as well.

Cheers!

Welcome to CGN

Read the sticky notes in the top of this forum it should explain everything.

But its basically post 3 days consecutively and ask mods for access. But stay active and keep posting in different threads and stay active. The more you contribute the better chance you have of getting access. Be a part of the community!! Hope that helps!!

This is outdated information.

The system will automatically grant access after a certain number if posts in a certain number of forums.
Based in started threads and comments.

The exact formula is and number and time interval is a mystery.

Just start posting.

Thanks everyone I appreciate the input !

I am hoping to gain access as I’m in the market for a moose and deer rifle. We have both up here, I had a 300 wsm long ago that I had sold to a friend of mine. My girlfriend has a 30-06 and I am torn between what caliber to go with.

Welcome!

Nothing wrong with 30-06 or 300wsm. 30cal just doesn't tickle my fancy, but they certainly do the job! I'm a 7mm fan personally...

What do you enjoy about the 7mm out of curiosity. I have never had the chance to shoot one before.
That its not a 30cal lol

Realistically there isn't a lot of difference between the two, I just have no love for 30cal. Comparing similar cartridges a 7mm is either going to recoil less, have higher velocity, or use a bullet with a higher sectional density when compared to 30cal, but 30cal will poke a bigger hole. I personally like sectional density and velocity over bullet diameter, so 7mm is the "better" option to me... But realistically, the game isn't going to know the difference - A 280rem w/ a 160-175gr bullet and a 30-06 w/ a 165-180gr bullet are going to give you virtually identical effect on game, even if the 280rem moves a bit faster or the 30-06 punches a bit bigger hole.
