Hello,
New to this forum but active on a few here in the US.
Former FFL/SOT, (Federal Firearms License / Special Occupational Tax) that was only for a few years back in the 90’s.
Active collector/builder when my budget allows.
I’ve had the pleasure to own a few rare pieces in the past. When the opportunity or need for cash arose, they moved on to new owners.

Interest was always towards the modern military style rifles, mostly HK.
Past semi rifles that have come and gone include Valmet 76, Galil ARM, FAMAS, HK91, AUG, FNC, SIG 550 and a few others.

Past full autos when I had my SOT included HK33K, HK51K, MP5SD and a Vollmer built HK21 …and a MAC.

What brings me here is after a few, quite a few, hours of researching the SIG 543 rifle. We are due to have a release of 543 parts kits here soon.
Since you all have had the pleasure of getting the FAMAE rifles in some years ago, I’ll be looking for information.
These parts kits are missing a section of the receiver right where the bolt hold open lever is located. I need to see how these levers were mounted on the FAMAE and make a comparison to the SIG.

Once I navigate through the forum I’ll find the appropriate place to post.

A fairly recent build completed a few years ago when we received the Beretta 70/90 kits back in 2020. That’s a story in itself, lots of hands on deck in the US and assistance with a gentleman in Italy that provided a lot of dimensions helped people get these back together.

My latest G3 cut away build.
FMP G3 parts kits that came from Portugal earlier this year.

I swore I wasn’t going to ramble here and I did.
Looking forward to navigating through your forum, thanks!

Welcome to Nutz from SEOntario. We can only look at the pictures now lol. I’d love to own an MP5 but unless I become a gangstah it ain’t happening!! Great to add another member. I remember many moons ago , two members of the club participating in machine gun shoots a couple times a year. Have a great holiday season and prosperous new year. Cheers Chris

Yes, I’m not too well-versed on your laws, but like anywhere else I’m sure things have been rapidly changing.
Judging by a few comments, I think I’m finding that out since I requested some photos in the green and black rifle thread.

in all fairness, I respect that. The forums down here run a tight ship and try to weed through new members to see if they’re legit.

Thanks for the welcome.

If you ever get the chance to shoot an MP5SD, take it. One of the MP5 variants that will leave you talking about it for a long time.

Welcome

Neat builds

Why did you give up your SOT? Is there a cost or ongoing compliance regulatory requirement?
Thanks for the comment.

Honestly, it was something I thought I could afford to dabble in, but found it to be more time consuming than what it was worth.
Technically an SOT is not supposed to be used to enhance their personal collection and I was doing minimal amounts of transfers. Not having deep pockets I couldn’t afford to sit on an inventory of anything.

It was fun while it lasted.
