Hey-ho! Look what I just put together! I've joined the ranks of AR owners.

For those that want the details:
The barrel and bolt carrier are Colt sporter HBAR.
The upper and lower are sweet Stag pieces from ArmsEast.
Stock is Magpul
Pistol grip is CAA.
The front rail, vertical grip and flashlight are all no-name el cheapo stuff just for show.
The guts are a combination of Colt sporter, and for the stuff that has to do with different pin sizes, I bought piece-meal at a gun show.

All in all, from starting with a bin of parts to a finished firearm, probably took maybe an hour and a half and I wasn't working hard. It all just went together like a model kit really. EVERYBODY should put together their own AR!
 
Yeah, I need optics and some freak'n magazines! Sure with the 20" barrel and magpul stock it's more a distance rifle, but in the interim I've stuck a holosight on it. Seems to work so far at the short ranges I've been able to get to.

Mag-wise, I bought a couple of dinky little 5 rd ones at a gun show in the States, thinking "Oh these are perfect for Canuck-land!". But it turns out they don't work worth a damn. So until I can get that straightened out, I've got a very nice, single-shot rifle.
 
I'd also lose the flashlight and move the Vert-Grip back... unless you are huge. I am average size and I find that closer to the magwell is much better for steadying the rifle.
