Hi Everyone!

Nice to meet everyone. Just got my PAL.

I live in Toronto and relocated here 4 years ago from New York with my Canadian wife.

I also posted in the general section asking for recommendations for my first rifle.

I have pretty extensive experience with firearms as I was in the military for 3 years and used to ARs.

I will likely get both shotgun and another rifle. Looking for a good all-rounder but would prefer a semi that can be used for range, hunting but also SHTF. Almost impossible with the gun laws here!

Any recommendations would be super helpful.

Welcome to the CGN from southern Ontario.

I like the Mossberg 940, had some issues because of factory assembly but easily fixed, took it all apart to clean packing grease anyway. Haven't had any issues since,

Browning and Beretta make some good models too, multi chokes and shims to get the fit right.

Not sure about semi rifles now. But im sure someone will be along with suggestions.

Yes our gun laws are ridiculous and unfair.
 
Welcome to Nutz. Greetings from SEOntario. I like semis but if its to be an all purpose and super reliable your not going to beat a trusty pump gun. Much fewer parts and an 870 or BPS will serve you well. Benelli makes some multi purpose guns and the M2 comes to mind. Cheers and welcome again.
