Well we're announcing stuff left and right so why not!?

The MEPRO M5 Red-Dot Sight is an energy-efficient, compact sight that provides thousands of operating hours while utilizing a single “AA” commercial battery.

Featuring battle-proven LED technology and rugged MILSTD design, the sight assures reliability under the harshest environmental conditions. With its large display window and clearly-defined Red-Dot, the MEPRO M5 ensures rapid target acquisition with both eyes open.

Offering four easily switchable reticle brightness intensities, the MEPRO M5 fits every tactical scenario. To facilitate night operations and long-range target engagement the MEPRO M5 is compatible with GEN II and GEN III NVGs as well as with Magnifying Scopes.

Its human-engineering allows positioning of NVGs and Magnifiers close to the sight’s optics with no decrease in the field-of-view and without compromising convenient switch operation.

Advantages:
  • Durable & Lightweight
  • LED Technology for low power consumption
  • Auto shut-off mechanism for additional energy savings
  • Numerous distinct reticle brightness levels for different tactical scenarios
  • Compatible with NVGs & Magnifying Scopes
  • Large display window
  • Integral Picatinny rail adapter
  • Low-battery Indicator
  • Minimal Maintenance
  • MIL-STD qualified

These are available now and retail at $565.00

The other thread seems to be getting all the love, so I for one will say: these look neat!

Like an eotech, but not an eotech. I seem to recall Rick from ATRS being pretty excited about them.

Here's another shot of the Mepro M5 in the states!

1.The reticle is a single dot?
2.What size?
3.With only 4 levels of brightness, is lvl 1 the nightvision mode, or is there a seperate switch?
4. How does it indicate low battery, does it flash the reticle, or is there a seperate power indicator l.e.d.?
5. Is the l.e.d. source visible from the target side, or is it set low, or hidden by polarized glass?
6. How will warranty be handled in Canada? Will we be shipping to Israel for any issues?
This is the stuff that I look for, and I think many others do to.

Excellent questions.

Reserving this space for answers! It's currently 9pm in Tel Aviv and no one's picking up the phone to talk optics ;)

Answers!

Here is what I got from Mepro:

1.The reticle is a single dot? Yes
2.What size? 2 MOA
3.With only 4 levels of brightness, is lvl 1 the nightvision mode, or is there a seperate switch? Level one is the NV mode
4. How does it indicate low battery, does it flash the reticle, or is there a seperate power indicator l.e.d.? Correct the reticle will flash
5. Is the l.e.d. source visible from the target side, or is it set low, or hidden by polarized glass? The led source is definitely not visible from the other side
6. How will warranty be handled in Canada? Will we be shipping to Israel for any issues?

If you run into an issue, PM or email us at Zahal and we will put you in contact with Meprolight. If it sounds like an issue covered by Warranty you will mail the item back to Israel. We will check it, and replace any defective product with a new one.

We have cell numbers and direct lines we can give out if an issue arises, but we don't think its likely. The IDF will likely be putting their optics through worse stress than most Canadian users.

For future reference though here is the office line for Mr. Eugene Shpitsberg, Director of Sales & Marketing who can get you pointed onto the right person for service.
Tel: +972-73-2436600

Please keep in mind if you are calling or emailing Israel that there is a 9 hour time difference. For best results: Call at breakfast, not lunch. At lunch time in Canada everyone in Israel is out at the bars or home with the family.

why is the guy closing one eye while looking thru a reflex sight?

That guy is looking silly because he's an actor. We can't show the faces of real IDF special forces. :D

The left eye is a glass eye, and it reflects sunlight, thus revealing his position. Squinting it is a tactical move. If he wants to signal friendly aircraft, he opens it wide and blinks rapidly. He has a patch, but it's a third camo pattern, and he felt it would ruin the whole outfit.

Love this answer!

This seems to be a 'down rated' version of the MSE; any plans to offer a reticle selection (or selectability, w/i the unit)..?

I love the Mepro products you're bringing in (am waiting for the 'WOR', to place the M21 order...).

Keep up the GREAT work, for supplying cool stuff to the Canadian market..!

Yeah, it will be great if there are different reticle options. I especially prefer the bull's eye style.
