New Mini 14 and heavy bullets?

I got new Mini 14 stainless. It shoots quite well will 55gr reloads but my 60gr Hornady reloads it definitely does not like. Anyone else encounter this a preference for 55gr?

What rifling twist does the barrel on your mini 14 have?

I think most mini 14's have a 1 in 9 twist. It might not like that specific bullet/powder combo, so try some others, because a 1 in 9 should not have problems stabilizing a 60gr projectile.

Mine does work best with 55gr. Bullets

Mine works best with either 55gr AE Tactical and best with 55gr Varmageddon. Hates anything over 55gr

mine had no issues with 62gr fusion ammo. try some different brands and see what it likes.

It was the Hornady V-Max with H335 pushing it for thew 60gr, WCC ball with H335 for the 55gr load.
