According to the Berdan book the cost of each rifle with angular bayonet was $42.50.
The 3,300 NM'59 Berdan rifles fell in the range of 54,374 to 57,567 according to Roy Marcot's book.

That's a fantastic carbine. I have one also a bit rougher but still very good. The serial number is scrubbed from the tang but under the barrel is stamped C22270. It's a lined 50-70, has the cartouche and has a patch box butt stock. I've fired a douzen rounds so far without a problem loading 63gr of 2f.
