Remington 700 XCR Tactical thanks to the awesome crew at P&D. i never feel guilty buying stuff from them. (could be a bad thing for me)

it has nothing on it right now because i dont know what to buy.

i am debating between the bushnell elite 4200 /w target turrets or the Falcon menace FFP model. dont know what rings to get, i had no idea rings were that expensive, quality ones anyways. base is going to be kyle precision arms or egw from allen gun works. i will probably paint the rifle, not sure if i want to spray the whole thing.

anyone know which one of the badger ordnance FTE breaks fit the XCR tac?

thanks!

Nice. I would get the brake, but thats the last thing I would do to it. As for the scope, go with the falcon.

Same rifle. Get a 20 MOA base and some good glass (and you don't need S&B to get great glass). Eveything else is just bling, bling with little added zing, zing.

i will be getting the Falcon FFP scope. it does what i want it to do.

i really like your mag set up. is it just me or does the mag look like a m14 20 round?

Mag is an accuracy international (VBull mag kit).

Buy what you like, but honestly you likely won't be needing an FFP option any time soon -and may be better served with a non-FFP scope. For some applications FFP is actually a negative, because the reticle grows quite thick at higher magnifications, even covering the target at longer ranges. I'd honestly like to know how many people really use their mildots for ranging so often that they need to be able to mil at any zoom (professional shooters aside).

HAHA.....welcome to the sickness.

Farrel makes good bases and TPS rings are affordable and strong. The Burris Tactical rings are also good value for the money.

Probably not a lot. I notice a lot of range finder crutch.

I spend more time practising estimating range based on object size than actually shooting. I have a range finder but its only used to confirm my estimates when practising.

I love the feeling of getting a first shot hit on target at UKD with no electronics involved. Its the same satisfaction you get navigating successfully in close country with only map and compass...

What I was getting at is that you can still mil with a non-FFP scope, and for the amount of times most people actually do it, it's probably more than fine. I'm betting 90%+ of recreational shooters have never range estimated with their optic, and/or haven't the slightest idea how to do it properly.
Myself, I like a very fine reticle (NP-R1), and would rather have the tradeoff on milling-annoyance. Of course, I'm only killing paper, and I'd be talking out my ass about my needs otherwise.

I too am interested in this rifle.

What cartridge did you guys get and hows the accuracy??

.308. It consistently shoots .75 MOA with Lapua 170Gr Loackbase which is fine for a factory barrel (I'm a fairly crappy shot consistency wise so take that as the minium capability). Holds accuracy well out to 800 or so and then things open up a bit.

I'm going to get my press back up and start experimenting a bit though I usually just stick to one load that generally works and get good with it (i.e. get very accurate tables).

The rifle was tuned by ATRS (bedding, mag, rail, bolt knob etc.) and the magazine seating was re-adjusted by Tactical Ordnance later on.

When I wear the barrel out I'm going to have Tacord put a 6.5X47 barrel on it.

Very true and you are undoubtedly right.

That looks like a pretty good reticle with many fine gradations. Is it graduated in MOA or mils?

What cha mean bling bling cracker? This #### set up won't do you any justice if you can't shoot for the life of you. Nice magazine. Is it a precision squad automatic or what? have fun laying down a beaten zone with that. Maybe you should stick to shotguns and stay out of the precision rifle forums....and stop buying ammo from Walmart with your Muskoka dinner jacket in downtown Orangeville. Its embarrassing Mr mildot masturbator...and lose the c130 avatar you haven't jumped in over twenty five years...it should be a walker and with cans of vanilla flavoured boost falling out of it instead. Just kidding nice setup.:D

800 metres or 800 millimetres? Man, your range only goes to 100 metres. Poser:dancingbanana:

Nice rifle! Love the scope!

Looks kinda like my new M40A3 I posted here the other day.

I'm hesitant to install the Vbull in my 700P .223, until it's confirmed that AI will be bringing out a .223 magazine! I don't want to be stuck single round loading.

The first rifle looks real good as well! Put the best stuff on her and never look back or doubt. Buy once, buy quality.

Cheers, Carl

Yes a decent scope for the money, i've got one on my AR, the two precision rifles I have both sit under NightForce scopes though. 1 NXS , 1 BR. both 42X

M.

Which NF scope do you like better? I opted for the 42x NXS. That being said I also have a fair amount of Zeiss Conquest scopes and Falcon Menace. I'm happy with all of my choices for the given rifles.
