Here's a couple of shots of a new stock I picked up. Sure is a lot bigger than the D stock. Fits quite well so I'll see how it shoots.Pete

Thanks for the replies! Yeah I found it at the HAC show on the weekend out in Chilliwack. I was snooping in the old stock bin of Rons' and saw that it was marked SKS and looking at it I could see it would fit a D so I bought it for $17.00. It's a nice change of clothes for the D. And the fit to stock is tight and the pull a bit longer. It looks like it probably is chinese made but of a different sort of wood that is quite white where there is no stain. The little bench is great for small gunsmithing and cleaning and sighting in at the range. The butt area clamps together and slides forward and back, and the front raises and slides. Get building! how can you lose ? a whole stock for $17 .... sh*t , i almost paid that amount just for a butt pad from the US (including convertion, shipping and MO fee.

is the gun show in chilliwack the same size as the one in burnaby?

Hi there T. it was the 2 day affair. It sure is a long way to Chilliwack from N. Van and it was white out conditions with driving rain....nothing like a road trip!

It looks great Pete, Did it fit perfectly without any filing?
Hi there Prometheus, I didn't have to do much fitting but I did have to relieve the area around the rec. cover take down pin to slide it out with the stock on. And the spring under the trigger group was a little too tight to seat the group, but that was about it. The cross bolt lined up pretty well with the front of the receiver, and the AK mags go in well, so I don't see a problem at the range when the time comes.
