Nice looking rifle. If that target was at 25 yards you were having a bad day. If it was at 100 yards with a $100 rifle then not too bad or its first shoot.

Get into handloading, friend, and watch the groups shrivel up.

MUCH surplus ammo was loaded with MGs in mind, meaning greater dispersion built right into it. THEN the primers started to deteriorate, as corrosive primers will do. Modern primers deteriorate at an extremely slow rate.

For surplus Russian ammo, good shooting. This is one to take care of, regardless the dollar price.

Ishevsk made some Nice Rifles. This is definitely one of them.

i actualy am set up for handloading just dont have the time .i like shooting milsurp ammo in milsurps kinda is what its all about for me.shell tighten up as the stock settles in after next cosmo removal session

Shoot with the bayonet on, and those groups will shrink. - and probably move.

1944 is a hard to find year for standard M91/30s. Can you post more photos of it?

funny thing is the sights are bang on with the bayo off perfect elevation and windage never happened to me before and this is #9 on my mosin list

That is one nice looking cannon, and good shooting to boot. Is the ferrule on the end of the handguard brass? Nice pics by the way. Cheers.

Good shooting.

I just got my Westrifle mosin today. hopefilly I can get out theis weekend. Did all you other westrifle trolls get the bolt tool with your mosin. I didn't. I was wonder if I getting it is the rule or the exception.

Given the nature of the stock sights and the variable nature of the milsurp ammo I'd say that's pretty darn good.

Mind you it may help you concentrate more on your shooting if you weren't laying down in the mud...... :D
