Default Mosins ON THE WAY!!!!!
Hello,

I was (OK the shop I work for) contacted yesterday from one of are wholesalers. The wholesaler is buying 5000 MN's and they were looking to see what we wanted ( we are a TINY shop so we only took 10) if they can dump all 5000 quick and not hold on to them before they get them, so they were basically taking pre-orders. THEY ARE COMMING IN FROM CANADA!!!!!!!!!! they are not suppose to arrive till roughly March 2017 they really said SPRING 2017. It looks like they are circumventing Obama's Soviet Import Ban by going through CANADA to get them here. The wholesaler is NOT a big time company and it is BY NO MEANS a Century arms size wholesaler and if are med sized wholesaler is getting an offer of 5000 MN's, I can't image what the big guys will be getting or have access to. I hope it works out to get more rifles in here (USA) as I need to finish up my Ex-Sniper collection!!!!!!! LOL LOL : ) just thought I would pass the info along. its the first time I have heard solid info DIRECTLY from an importer or wholesaler of a pretty good size lot of IMPORTED MN's and not cache of old imports held for later higher prices or a out of business's surplus bought and re-sold.

Unless US Import Laws have changed, this story is a fabrication. Guns must be in Canada for at least 5 years before being able to be exported to the USA. I know of no Canadian Importer that has been sitting on 5,000 Mosins-Nagant for the last 5 years!

That's what I thought, but??????????

It has nothing to do with bans, no prohibitions. The BATF when I exported firearms always ask for signed letter/statement that they firearms had been in Canada for 5 years. I doubt the Firearms at North Sylva have been in Canada for 5 years, the in the grease Mosins have been a fairly recent thing.
