Hi guys,

I just bought a great condition, all matching No4 but the wood set is all in bad shape. Does anyone know where I can buy a brand new walnut stock set. I am in Ontario.

Cheers,
Jim

There is a guy making replacement walnut stocks, new production on (I assume) a CNC machine. There are hardware sets available also, but all English. Look in the EE for Lee Enfield stock and parts.

Is the No4 LB? Brit? Savage? You can find butts and handguards. Maybe your forend can be restored. Finding a very good conditioned forend is trough and pricey. I've not seen any No4 repro however the guy doing CNC stated he would attempt to do. Then you need to fit and finish. As post #2 stated "you can advertised here on EE". Post a couple pictures of your No4 and I can give you some guidance. Ron

I think that guy is a myth. Everyone always talks about a guy making Enfield and Ross stocks but no one ever provides a way to contact said guy

Hi
anyone able to pm me the contact details
as it seems they aren't allowed on here
as i have an enfield or two that could do with some decent wood
cheers

That guy isn't a myth. That myth just got some $$ from me and sent me a repro cnc walnut stock and hardware for my #1 MK111 rifle. I received it about 3 weeks back and it looks good.

However, there is a gentleman online who is constantly harassing the maker of these stocks. He is stalking him and launching complaints on every web page he sells his stuff on. If I recall the back story, the buyer ordered a set and found that minor fitting was required. He became angry and demanded a free drop in stock and parts, plus he wanted to keep the original one he bought. The seller refused, now the buyer has made it his personal mission to ruin the sellers business.

The handguards are "beech"; butt looks to be "walnut"; forend will need to be fitted as these are not drop in- the nose piece needs to be installed - need some skill to fit the 2 retaining pins and there's no recoil strap at the rear. If you can't find an original set this is your best option. If a Long Branch or Savage stay with what you have. Ron

I have #1 Mk III forestocks from 3 different reproduction makers. Yukon,S Ontario and Missouri. Had 1 from Efd years ago too.
The stocks from Yukon are a very close, good copy.Minor finishing needed.
S Ontario maker is semi inletted and requires many hours of work. Finish, pin hole drilled and a fair bit of chisel work.
Missouri maker is very rough.
Efd Surrey Britain was very good but no longer in business.
