Just got it last week and must say I'm very pleased with it considering the price. Even shot point of aim at 50 out of the box. Funny it only says CQ on it and not Norinco. Looks robust. Gobbles up ammo without a hitch too. First AR and was surprised how easy they come apart. Hope it still works when I take it out next. Just saying.

I just sold my Norc 10.5. It was great, around 800 rounds through it without a FTF. One or two FTE but I blame the ammo. A great entry level AR that I got just incase I didn't like the platform. Surprisingly accurate and very easy to make your own.

Enjoy!

Congrats on your Norc! The more AR's out there, the better! I hear many good things about the Norc/Poly AR's. Try out a mini red dot like the Bushnell TRS-25 but getting good with iron sights first never hurts. Have fun out there. :ar15:

Its the 14.5 inch with the colapasable stock from Marstar. Believe it or not I have a Bushnell TRS25 on my .22 Mark 3. Maybe I'll try it on my AR.

with the 10.5 you should use the spring & 0 ring upgrade for your extractor and you never have FTF or FTE. Its a small fix with big results.

OP, I have a Norc just like yours. I've made exactly 3 mods to it, none of which are essential.

1) ACT trigger - much more crisp than the stock Norc trigger - and it drops in. No gunsmithing required.

2) a BAD lever to make it truly ambidextrous

3) a small piece of rubber (can't remember the name off the top of my head) that covers the gap between the trigger guard and the pistol grip so your middle finger doesn't get chewed to bits during long range sessions....

I'm using a VISM 1x4 scope with an illuminated Mil-Dot reticle on a Burris PEPR mount (both Chinese-made : appropriate, no?? :p ) for optics and the carry handle sights for irons. I DID have to raise the front post to zero the irons to 50 yards, though (my scope is zeroed for 100).

It's a great, reliable, inexpensive platform to get into the AR game. If you decide to stay with AR's, you can sell it for about what you paid, OR keep it as a backup/main rifle for CQB-3Gun. I'm planning (next year) to build a 20" bbl version with a 1/8 twist and a match trigger for Service Rifle shoots - although the Norc works just fine for that at my range (limited to 100 yds right now).

Congrats on the new rifle.
Ive been on the fence about getting a Norinco AR, not sure if I should just hold off for something better. But from what you guys are saying, it seems ok. Maybe I'll look into them further.
