New Norinco Commander

Mine was tight, the only thing I had to do was to grind down the edge of the safety a bit where it dug into the web of my hand.

About the sharp edges, would a smith be able to do something about that? A little rounding off the edges? Or would you be able to do that by yourself with a dremel and lots of time?

My grip safety is a little loose as well.

What's the fix?

make sure gun is unloaded [disclaimer],pop the backstrap pin & remove the backstrap, there is a spring with 3 'fingers', bend the 1 tighter for the grip safety, i also slack the trigger 1 a bit while im in there, reassemble & saftey check

I picked up a new Norc compact [commander] last year from a local dealer here. I gave it a complete detail strip to get out the factory gunk & grease. Reassembled it with an aluminum adjustable trigger I had in the parts box and installed a set of double diamond hardwoods with hex head grip screws. Other than that she's all stock. Great trigger pull as is.

Anyway, if yours shoots like mine you will be pleasantly surprized. It digests everything I have fed it. But it seems to like factory Fiocchi 230 gr JHP's the best. Even the two gritty feeling factory mags work great.

I am pleased with these "new" Norcs.

Here's a picture of the previous generation. This is all stock except the ivory. Looks like the new Norks have come a long way. Finish seems not to be parkerized, slide serrations and ejection port are angled. I like my older one, but might need to get a litter mate for it. :)

Colin what parts added, from where, how much?

So far only added an extended safety, extended slide lock and a magwell flare. I actually ground down the extensions of those two parts as they were a bit much. Grounded them down, shot it, took some more off , shot it, took some more off and I think I got it where I like it. The advantage of stainless is that you don’t need to reblue. I got the parts plus firing pin/extractor for $85 here on CGN.

I will likely replace the trigger, mag release and spring plug with Stainless, just for the look factor not function.

The only thing I will replace for function is the sights and I will get Novaks for it.
