I have an older Nornico 22 magnum knockoff of the Brno, and while it shoots just fine, it is not even close as far as finish and fit is concerned[but a fraction of the price, too, paid $100 from SIR years ago]I'm looking at the new Norinco JW15TH inthe camo thumbhole stock-looks good, but has the quality improved over the older models? How are they for accuracy?[all that counts in a .22]

I think little has changed

Hi Ratherbefishin,

I just bought a JW15TH from Frontier. I didn't expect too much considering what it is and the price, but I did want something close to the performance of a BRNO. Well sad to say that it does not live up to that expectation. Finish is very rough with visible tools marks and poor fitting magazine well. The front sight was not only canted clockwise, the top of the post was also visibly slanted. The magazine was... well as my friend put it best "extruded like something from a sausage casing (intestines)!" :p It doesn't feed worth a d@mn and is very tough to insert and remove. Rounds often nose dive instead of rising into the chamber, and sometimes they clip the front of the magazine and scrape off part of the bullet. I even tried the mag in my BRNO model 1 and could barely get it to lock. I'm using the mags from my model 1 now and they work fine. The rifle also has problems feeding anyting other than round nose ammunition and seems to get the best groups with high velocity ammunition. The grouping originally was very poor (1.5" at 25m) and I was considering sending it back. But on suggestion from my friend, I took off the muzzle thread cap and the groups dropped to .75"! For reference, the model 1 will group .5" to .75" at 50m. All grouping measurements are outside to outside diameter. Hope this helps with your decision!
