JS, 9MM SUBMACHINE GUN

China North Industries Group Corporation (NORINCO) revealed its new 9mm JS submachine gun during the 2005 International Police Equipment Expo held in Beijing. The submachine gun may initially be targeting the export market, but may also enter service with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and People’s Armed Police (PAP) for special operations.

The JS submachine gun appears to be developed from the Type 95 assault rifle, with its ‘bullpup’ configuration where the magazine is located behind the trigger. The submachine gun fires 9mm handgun rounds from a closed and locked bolt in either the automatic or semi-automatic modes. The gun is recoil-operated and has an integral silencer. The gun can also be fitted with optical scope and other accessories for operation in both day and night conditions.

SPECIFICATIONS

Calibre: 9mm
Length: 450mm (without silencer)
Weight: 2kg (without silencer); 2.4kg (with silencer)
Maximum range: 150m
Magazine capacity: 20 or 30 rounds

Won't get it anyway. It's a bullpup.

RePete.

Why does someone post this crap every few days?

Bullpup add-on stocks are prohibited.

Barrett M99 isnt prohib.
AMP DSR1 isnt prohib.
High standard bullpup shotgun isnt prohib.

NOT even the Walther G22 is prohib. Just its stock.

Aslong as the gun cannot function without the stock, this gun too will be legal.

I put in my $0.02 here as non-expert

From the CFC site:
Walther G22 Firearms
Version 3.3 of the FRT indicates that the Walther G22 is a non-restricted firearm with a “Bullpup design”. Please disregard that entry. New information on this firearm reveals that it is currently being manufactured with an actual bull-pup stock, which is listed as a prohibited device in Criminal Code Regulations. This type of stock reduces the overall length of the firearm by placing a substantial part of the reloading action or the magazine well behind the trigger of the firearm when the firearm is held in the normal firing position.

Since individuals cannot possess prohibited devices, they cannot possess this firearm in its current configuration. Businesses may possess it only if they are licensed to possess prohibited devices for an approved purpose.
Affected businesses and individuals will be contacted with information about their options.
Note: it says nothing about "add-on"
Also, rifles or shotguns that are less than 26" overall in length are prohibited as per http://www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca/info_for-renseignement/factsheets/prohibited_e.asp. These two regulations would make bullpup rifles almost always prohibited. You would have to replace the stock and ensure the overall length is more than 26" to make this a restricted rifle. Of course doing so, totally negates the original design

Thank you for proving me right. As you can see bullpup stocks are prohibited. However bullpup FIREARMS are not.

Wrong. It makes them restricted.

You obviously know nothing.
Next.

Um Rifledude, go back and read that again. Note the bold print on ALTERED.

If the gun comes from the factory under 26 inches, it's kosher. If it's a semi and under that length than it will be restricted. If it was imported over 26 inches OAL, and you alter it so it can be fired with an OAL below 26 inches, than of course it goes prohib.

If the definition was as you were interpreting it, than virtually all of the recently imported semi auto smg's would be prohibited, not restricted.

the rule is once NON-restricted it can never be anything else. any mods would make it a prohib.

restricted TO non restricted = OK

non restricted TO restricted = prohib

my question is, how can an already shortend firearm be reduced in length with in its standard/original stock? heh i can't get my head around it/

Thats why the Walther rifle decision is currently being brought to the courts.
