Well I have taken the plunge into the o/u world! I grew up shooting my dads Charles daly 20 gauge made in miroku Japan. It was an awesome gun and I wanted to have something of my own. I ended up going to a 12 gauge because it is cheaper than 20 gauge ammo. A 20 gauge is still in my future though haha!

So I ended up trying a bunch of different guns and wanted to stay in an affordable price range from $1000- $1800. This gave me a lot of options from a lot of different company's! I ended up trying one that I had never heard of and it was called Akkar, I started doing some research and found some fairly good reviews but nothing that I could really see in the canadian market (Australians seem to do all the reviews on these guns). I ended up going to a gun club and saw that a fella Ed was shooting an Akkar. We ended up talking and he offered to let me try it out. Ed ended up teaching me a lot, he was one of the coaches at the club. I tried it and instantly fell in love it handled beautifully for me. Ed also had a browning Citori there that he told me to try to compare. I tried it and I wasn't really hitting anything with it and it seemed like I really had to force myself to get comfortable. After that outing I went to my local small gun shop and picked up an Akkar. I got the 206 Churchill high standard walnut. The gentlemen at the shop helped me pick out the nicest grain and I took it home!

I got home gave it a light cleaning and then took it out to the range with the neighbour. I ended up hitting 46 out of 50! My best score yet for trap! I am beyond happy with this gun and cannot recommend it enough. Here are some links to review videos I found in Australia! If you want to get a sweet o/u for under $1100 you can't go wrong with an Akkar. I will get some pictures up here in the next couple hours!

I like the idea of the 30 inch plus the 20 inch combo .That would work for me. I may have to try one in for fit.is there any shims with this outfit . Dutch

Congratulations.... The Turks make some incredible guns for the price.... Great stuff in my opinion .... They make many guns for CZ and Yildiz as well.... I went Yildiz for the same reason as you..... Beautiful gun great price.... I got the ultralight version....

The 206 Churchill is an O/U shotgun.

I believe the Benelli 828 is the only product currently available with stock shims (due to it's unique receiver design).

I under stand it is a over and under shot gun .and with the two barrels combo it would make a great gun to add to my safe .the 30 inch is great for clays and the 20 Inch would be great for busting bunnys in the bush over my hound.have a hard time with over and understand fitting my high cheek bones and I always have to lift my head to be able to see down the barrels. That's why I asked about shims. Thanks Dutch

Saw one of these at my local Canadian tire. The price was right but I just don't know much about them and truth be told I don't really need another shotgun.

Please let us know how it ends up treating you and if any issues start coming up with this gun.

Enjoy!

Actually they don't make guns for CZ & Yildiz, you are thinking of Huglu. Akkar makes and sells shotguns under their own name except the Mamut which is sold over here as the Chiappa Tripple Threat. That having been said they make a very good gun for the money. My Churchill 206 Silver Hunter has seen regular Skeet duty with around 4000 shells through it so far, no issues or signs of wear.

I was referring to all Turkish manufactured guns in general..... All of the manufacturers seem to make good quality guns and the wood is typically nice..
