Hey Guys,
Just wanted to introduce myself and see if there are many locals on the forum. My name is Kristen and I'm from Victoria. I've just recently acquired my PAL after some back and forth correspondence with the government (the first application for I sent was outdated).
I'm hoping to get into some IPSC style shooting as soon as I can afford it, it seems this is an expensive sport for a student! I've done some PPC courses and they got me hooked so I can't wait to buy my first gun and get out there.
I'm thinking of starting with a semi-auto .22 to keep costs down, any suggestions? I've been browsing the exchange pages and have seen some reasonable deals so far.
Cheers!

FIrst off, let me be the first to say WELCOME!!! Its always good to have new ppl! If someone is new to shooting, a .22 is the way to go. If your looking for pistols, than I recommend anything by Ruger or Browning. They both have the best .22 pistol's out there. Some ppl will say one is better over the other, but in the end, they're the best out there.

Welcome, if you want to get into IPSC, I'd highly recommend getting a Springfield Armoury XD - Comes with two magazines, holster, dual magholder. Then all you have to do is get 2 more magazines and another XD mag holder and you're set. That's what I did at least.

Sounds good! Thanks for the welcome and the advice, I'll be looking at getting a .40cal sometime next spring so I'll look into the XD when I'm shopping.
cheers!
