well just received my brownells order of screws and rebuild kit for my DA 1911 and gsg 1911
the DA 1911 ordered both grip screws and bushings...so far the factory bushings won't come out and I don't want to snap somethng and then have to drill and tap so tried the screws in the original bushings and to my surprise they fit.
I do notice alittle play when screwing in the screw but it tightens down nice and snug...got rid of the chromish nasty screws and stainless hex screws installed...the rest of the spring and pin rebuild kit also fit perfectly...gives my DA 1911 more of a personal touch and thank god I finally got to remove those ugly grip screws. also from hical I had installed a three finger spring as the original one was also nasty looking and when compared beside the two huge difference.
my gsg 1911 not as much work just installed hex grip screw with new bushings, the small screws seem toyish and the threading was perfect.
So for those who have the DA 1911 the Wilson combat grip screws should still work unless the threads are different on each gun.
who knows with these....
still can't believe the look of the plunger spring...all bent when I removed it...
will look at some other parts later on in the year
