Well....got tired of spring guns and decided to go in on a PCP rifle and give it a whirl. I bought an Air Arms S410 SL Xtra blah blah....lol...not sure, lots of initials, but a full length S410 none the less.

Initial impression was WOW! Beautiful walnut stock, rosewood caps and nice, dark bluing. As nice as any Remington, Browning, or other off the shelf bolt rifle I have owned.

I paid out for a Hill Pump and a few odds and ends. Put an El Inexpensivo Leapers 4-16 on it to start with, as recommended by the guys over at Airgun Source DOT COM. All fit and finish very nice, picked up 3 extra mags for it )10 rounds each) and 1500 pellets in 3 varieties to find the best fit at the best pressure.

I have not dialed in for different velocities and pressure in the gun yet, but so far, 30 shots from 200bar and all more accurate than I am...lol....it's a mite different than my VQ 10/22 or my Tavor. ;)

I will post more reviews and some targets and photos once I get time to take them and play a bit more. So far so good. I bought it as a way to shoot gophers and plink across the border as I have had some hassles with my Form 6 and actually getting across....haha.....I choose not to fight and possibly lose my TN, as was threatened by a guard 5 months ago. This nice rifle solves the issue. Registered here = no problem coming back, not a firearm there so no problem going down with it.

More to come.:D:D:D

You are toast dude. Once you go PCP, there is no turning back.

Once you made the investment in the equipment, then the addition of more guns is less of a finacial burdon.

I was debating the Theoben MFR and the AA410, and I went with the MFR mostly because the Theoben is more unique.

Start saving for a dive tank. Sometimes you can get a used for cheep. Life it better with a dive tank:)

Was just googling one...lol....probably going to order one while I am down south and have an order coming from Pyramid Air anyways. I have a feeling this will lead to more PCP guns too, no argument there.

Definitely the way to go!

Super quiet, powerful, accurate, and zero recoil means you can put any scope you want on it.

And yes, get an air tank for refills... here's a tank/refill calculator for ya!

So i have to buy a tank and a compressor unless you have a tip for me....lol.....before i bought a tank, i called 2 paintball places and three compressed gas places in calgary and no one...read no one!....will fill a carbon fiber tank to 4500psi. The paintball places have the gear, but have policies about filling above 3000psi and regulators in place so the dumb####s...his words....haha....don't over fill a regular HPA tank. So where do I fill a CF 4500 in Calgary without buying a compressor, which I am also considering, as I'm sure i could sell fills to others if I had my own compressor.

Why buy a carbon fibre high pressure tank? Wouldn't a high pressure steel tank be more easily accepted if you are running into that problem? I asked a local dive shop here if they would fill to 4500 psi and they said no problem. Of course its their discretion if they doubt the certification on the tank. I'm just going 3000 psi in my old aluminum 80. I'm close to a dive shop and its only $5 a fill.

I would get a steel tank if I was around more and doing weekend shoots and such. I want an 88 - 4500 so I can get the maximum number of fills when I leave for work and am gone for 20-30 days. I could pack around 2 steel 3000lb tanks, but bulkier.

If I had 3000lb tanks, filling would not be an issue here, but out in the boondocks...well.....probably not so easy.
