New Product Release - Ruger 10/22

It's actually got some legitimate improvements. Rear cleaning port would be useful to people who actually clean their .22lr bores. And hey...Ruger has come up with a real game-changing idea: actually using two bolts to hold the barreled receiver in the stock. instead of just the one! Wow! How come no one else ever thought of that?

Ruger 10/22's have, over the years, gone downhill in build quality while going through the roof price-wise. IMHO, they represent just about the poorest value-for-money available in the rimfire semiauto marketplace. The only thing they had going for them was the potential for people to "build"...i.e., by screwing on aftermarket crap...a rifle in hopes of making it work like it should have out of the box. And now we have a $900 US MSRP 10/22.

Shut up and take somebody else's money!

They are competing with many custom builders by doing this. Not saying it's right or wrong, I think it's a good move. Their heavy barrel target model shoots very very well at 50 yards with quality ammo. Curious, but not excited. It don't get much better than what I just said above. And their precision bolt gun in 22 is actually very good too. I do like Ruger.
