Love my 1980 8 3/8" K17. Looking to find one in 22 wmr in 6 or 8 inch. They seem to be rarer than hen's teeth. Does anyone have some experience with the new S&W line? Or recommend a quality 22 magnum revolver make.

Thanks

I have a dozen or more of the newer S&W revolvers and they are just fine. Maybe not quite a nice as the older models but very close.

I have the Ruger Convertible .22LR/.22WMR. It is a compromise and single action but not expensive to purchase. Mine is an older one I bought used. It is fun to shoot, the .22WMR is a good round, little expensive to shoot, almost the cost of 9mm. I have never heard of a S&W .22 WMR revolver.

The S&W revolvers in 22WMR are the Model 48 (blued) and the Model 648 (stainless). They are not real common but they are around. I expect that is because of the cost of the ammo and we cannot hunt with handguns so there is no real reason to have them.
