New Purchase Sig P229 SAS Gen 2 E2

Just the P229 SAS.
I guess I wasn't specific enough when I ordered it. I should have requested the most up to date one of possible.

Nice! Except for the parts they forgot to coat. 106mm barrel for Canada, of course. I have an old non-E2 229 / no rail pistol and I love it. Time to look for the E2 grip kit again...

You have a Gen 2 SAS with the "old" slide. Gen 1 pistols were all DAK models. Do not confuse the SRT (Short Reset Trigger) with the standard trigger you have on your pistol. The trigger in the Sig picture although known as a short trigger should probably better be described as a thin trigger and has absolutely nothing to do with the SRT.
The SRT system involves a different sear and safety lever. To check that this system is installed make sure the pistol is unloaded and without a mag inserted in the grip. Pull the trigger and keep the trigger held to the rear. Now rack the slide to simulate firing and slowly let the trigger go forward. The trigger should reset with an audible click and with very little forward movement.
Unless you have very small hands the standard trigger is probably a better choice when the pistol is equiped with the E2 grips anyways.
As for the slide, the un-coated area is apparently the marks where the slide was held during the Nitron coating process. Although unsightly it has no effect on the function of the pistol and should be considered to be normal and of course is not noticable when the pistol is assembled.

Thank you kxc223 for the info you provided, very informative. I can confirm that I do have the short reset trigger.
I definitely plan on keeping it.
Long time ago I sold a Sig P229 sas dak (Gen 1 model). It had beautiful wood grips and a stainless steel slide. I've regret it ever since.
Thanks again for the info.
