Hi everyone, just joined and thought I might ask for some suggestions on powders for my .223. Have been out only once to Silverdale Gun Club but have already learned what bullet grs the gun likes and doesn't like. The bore has a 7 twist and seems to like the Hornady 75 gr superformance match. I'm going out tomorrow after church to try some Federal American eagle 62 grs FMJ. I bought two 20 rnd boxes of 55 grn Remington & Winchester. Having done some reading and talking with other shooters I don't like shooting the 55. I'm shooting at 200 mtrs. My hope is to join the Ont. Rifle Assoc. so to get out onto some longer ranges and hopefully learn from more experienced shooters. I'll be using a Lee Pro 1000 Progressive set up for 223 and 357. My next big purchase is the Ruger GP 100 .357. I would greatly appreciate any feed back from serious long distance shooters and reloaders. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Hi. Best you go to the Reloading forum.
Keep the Remington and Winchester brass. It's good stuff. The Federal is ok, but is known for being soft. Just means it doesn't last as long as the other two brands.
Don't know if the ORA(DCRA) shoots .223 for anything but Service Rifle. Their web site will tell you though.
