Hey all,

Just wanted to say thanks ! I have just set up and done a few production runs of my reloading set up. Pretty much all the information I needed was here in these pages . I spent hours searching posts and solving questions as they came up. This forum was an amazing amount of help.

Cheers

They DO exist!!!

Lol.

What are you reloading? Rifle? Pistol? Both? Single stage? Turret? Progressive?

My set up is a Hornady Iron Press (kit) with a media tumbler, RCBS Dies, and a Hornady Neck sizing Die. I am reloading 308 win for a Tikka Tac A 1.
So far results are really good and I am having fun firing the different recipes and seeing the results down range.

Current Ammo is
Once (or more) fired Federal Brass from GMM store bought
Federal Primers
Varget Powder from 42 gr. to 44 gr.
Hornady Match 168 gr. hpbt's

I will be starting on a Lapua recipe soon. I have some new brass and 1000 155gr. Scenar L's coming

I love good ammo :)

Congratulations on getting set up and starting to reload. From your post, it sounds like you are setting up to continue to learn and improve. Fair warning, it can be completely addictive all in itself. Learning what works, how to make it work even better, what works best, and so forth is just a blast. Enjoy, read, learn, test, repeat. All your skills will improve - was that ME or was that something to do with the bullet/powder/primer/seating depth/neck tension, etc, etc, etc? Even after I find something that works extremely well, while I reload more (ok, a LOT more) to just shoot, I also continue to try and improve it or make it work better for longer distance or better wind bucking or, or, or. Fun, fun, fun! Enjoy the journey.

Give the CCI BR2 a try, you may be surprised how much a primer can make a difference.
Rumor around here (not confirmed) has it, that for small rifle primers Federal GMM primers yield better results, while for rifle large primers, CCI BR2 would yield better results.

In my case and personally, it has proven to be true, every setup is unique though.

Thanks Martyk2500 I bought some today

You didn't waste any time!
At the time I did my testing with 178gr Hornady match BTHP (have since switched for 175gr SMK), and the primer switch gave me a solid 1/8 MOA improvement on target (5 shot groups and more, I never do 3 shot groups).
