I picked mine up yesterday at WSS in Naniamo, 1st one in, I am quite impressed with the fit and finish, a little muzzle heavy, and high rings needed. However a giant October sized raincloud parked itself over us and I won't be getting a shot in for a few days, never the less WSS has really Excellent service and said they had 40 or so left on hand at their Calgary store. I'll post how it groups soon. So nice that its not Restricted.http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif

fill out that warranty card....or do it online ASAP....seriously.

Excellent, the more feedback on these the better, as I am probably going to get one soon. Did you get any high capacity mags for it as well? Looking forward to a review and range report.

I did get a Remington 30 round for mine....garbage. cheap, thin thin plastic, and jammed in the rifle the second time around. Get an aftermarket one if you can.

No high cap mags at the store and non supplied( Said there was 60 on order,, this is Van isle we're pretty happy to have a WSS) and thanks for the prompt on the warranty, will do right now. Phttp://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

Well I bought mine last night, 8 shots later the extracter blew to bits just like Freds. I took it back to where I bought it and he gave me a brand new one. Thanks Neil (Guns N Gadgets Aylmer Ontario) I went back to the range after a clean and shot 350 rounds with ZERO problems. Accuraccy was really good with my red dot.

$439.00+ taxes+ $492.00 total. Pricey, but like I said non restricted, it's actually useful, not just a range gun. I've seen them priced lower but we always have shipping to add in.

Well the warranty and jamming mag comments got me a little worried so I loaded the mag with ten rounds of CCI Standard Velocity, which is what I like to shoot, and went down to my back pasture and fired off ten rounds with out a bobble, nothing disintegrated , crumbled or jammed much to my surprise, heck maybe the next ten will do it in. :D The gun shoulders well with a sling, I put a 3-9 X 40 "Shorty Forty" B-Square scope on it, seems proportional to the OAL and positions my cheek well. Cheers!

Why do you even bother s**tting on every 597 thread? Okay we get it, you had problems with yours. Get over it.

Because I am certain I am not the only one that has, or will have issues with it.
Like any other firearm, there are good and bad in the mix, but filling out and sending in warranty cards is a Good practice to get into just in case you do have problems later on.
I am not " s**tting on every 597.....merely reminding others. If you don't like reading my posts, don't then.....get over it.

I don't know anyone who has had a 10/22 blow an extractor within 100 rounds. I've never even met someone who had one blow after thousands of rounds.

My 10/22 saw 10 000 rounds in one weeked (EESA open house) without issues.

I have, however, met two people from EESA, FBImagery being one, who suffered extractor failures on the first day of use.

The factory 25 round mag sucks.. It won't take CCI Stingers very well as they are a bit longer and get stuck in the mag..The rifle shoots good though...

I made it to the range today with VTR, with a B Square Shorty Forty 3/9 X 40 scope with high Weaver rings, tried CCI Standard Velocity, Eley Target, Federal Premium Gold Metal, Fiocchi Standard Vel. Lapula Super Club, and lastly Remington Thunder Bolt. Fellow shooters I have to say that own alot of 22s, from Anchutz to Cooey, Winnys and Walther, and High Standards too, I was saddened and surprised by the CRAPPY groups I was getting,,, ( Rested shot, 40 yards...) I was worried that the barrel, or scope mount was loose. Here is the skinny... everything except the Lapua super club, and... (SHOCK)!! Thunderbolts (Remington) was terrible, like 4" CTC, I was having a WTF moment untill I used the Lapua, which produced a very tight group, the Thunderbolts surprised me, probably a 1.5" CTC group, but very reliable, well I took the gun home and stripped it down to make sure all the screws were tight and changed the scope to a Tasco 2.5 X 10, I'm hoping that there is a break in period with this gun and it will tighten up the groups with more shooting. anyone else experience this??

A quick follow up, back at the range with 5 more brands of ammo, different scope and a proper front rifle rest. When this rifle likes a brand, then wow tight groups, and when it don't, its bad. Best thing I can do is try everything and hope it likes something cheap. I'm not done trying yet but I do have about 4 brands that excel.

My buddy had one brand new at the range yesterday. Nice look and feel but we had a lot of issues with the trigger which kept locking up in a rearward position and would then not fire. Sometimes fiddling with the trigger worked and sometimes a bang on the side of the receiver did the trick.

He had a lot more patience than I would have done. Taking it apart several times (a lot of screws) and trying to get it to work. The trigger components do seem to be very lightweight and rather flimsy. Was surprised at how light, small and flimsy looking the hammer is....

But it is cute...
