Anyone heard any reviews on this new gun?
If it's the same action and barrell as the 710, it may not preform up to spec!
Let me know what you think!
Thanks,
Tim

It is the new and improved Bic Lighter of Firearms...
Crap, Junk, P.O.S., Worthless, Not Intended for Serious Sportsmen, Make's a good jack handle or tomatoe stake... help me out here boys I'm runnin out of ideas...

It’s the latest, greatest edition of out-of-the-box accuracy and hunting performance from Remington. An upgrade of our famous Model 710,™ the new Model 770™ is the perfect choice for any hunter looking to fast-forward through the process of selecting a scope and components. It comes with a pre-mounted and boresighted 3-9x40mm riflescope. But most importantly, it’s built to our rigorous standards for accuracy and reliability. Simply choose your ammo and you’re ready to shoot.

It features the same great action and barrel as our Model 710 (based on the Model 700) with super-accurate button rifling, but now has an easier-to-cam bolt and a more durable magazine latch. Other advancements include a new, ergonomically contoured stock with a raised cheekpiece for rapid scope-to-eye alignment, and grip texture in all the right places.

Offered in a selection of long- and short-action calibers, the Model 770 is the quickest route to legendary status, and a full freezer.

Just a few questions. It's famous yes, but for what? What exactly does it have in common with a 700? It features a bolt handle? And if it's the latest and greatest, what's that say about Remington? :slap:

...Fence post, Driveway marker, Door prop, goalie stick, 1/3 of a teepee frame for your dog, ......

you get the idea...:)

The stock is redesigned and definitely feels better than the 710.The biggest change to the action is they lost the plastic liner and now use aluminum.Barrel is stil a press fit and it has the same cheap scope. The price has increased as well.I have handled one as S.I.R. had them in stock last week when I was there.Makes the choice between entry level rem. or sav. just a little tougher,NOT. Savage still better.IMO.

A POS by any other name is still a POS !

Loved the one about the fella with his 710 being prominantly displayed
in the back window gun rack of his pick-up truck. Someone smashed in the side window of the truck wehen he was parked at the mall ... and left another 710 !!!

The SPS seems to go up every year. My first one a couple years ago was 525 taxes in. Now they are 580 without tax.

Remington must have realized they couldn't afford to sell it for the price they started to sell it when it first came out.

i guess they think if they attach Remington to it they can build whatever they want and there are enough guys on tight budgets that will figure it is a good gun because it has the name.

I'd bet that if they called it the Remington Boat Anchor someone would still buy it to shoot.

I don't know why they keep that piece of junk alive
Nest time you overhear a "customer service rep" at your local outdoor retailer telling the newb about the "great deal from Remington, just like the 700", interrupt him and tell the newb the facts. Most people that are getting into the sport believe whatever the gunstore guru's spout off.
Remington keeps flogging this because people keep getting sucked in.
