New Remington Trap issue

For ####s and giggles has any one ever measured the base of a winchester super target and compared with remington or federal steel base shells .sammi specs the max base diameter at .8090". Just wondering if the base on these shells is very close to this measurement .

Don't have any Remington or Federal, but I've got thousands of Winchester Super Targets. They function perfectly in my bad weather back up gun. A Stoeger m3000 with a pound of duct seal added to the buttstock. Randomly measured some shell bases. Coming up around 0.804

Tolerances will vary with wear of production dies.
A max spec cartridge with a minimum spec chamber is likely where the trouble will start.

I just measured a few Super Targets and they are pretty consistent at .803 inches. Some from another box are consistently .802
Some AA brass bases are measuring .804
Challenger First Class brass bases are .805
Estate Super Sport steel base are .803 to .806 these are the most inconsistent that I measured.
I don't have any Federals to measure.

I guess that all this really means is that the Super Targets that I have are no different than anything else and well within spec, but that doesn't mean that they all are.

Estate Cartridges is owned by Federal.
Estate Super Sport are made in the USA, and Estate white box are imported from France with Cheddite hulls.

Those shells need a Very smooth chamber to run right and not get stuck.

You mean Super Target?
For what it's worth, I've run Super Targets through pretty much every gun I've owned ever since the Super Targets came out (and that's been a few guns) and apart from a handful of shells that didn't fire, I've had no problems with them albeit I do know some people have. You may be correct in saying that they need a very smooth chamber to run in but I'm more inclined to think they work well enough in an average chamber but not well in a rough chamber.
