Bougth my first Remingotn for a long, long, long time. I do have a custom rifle on a Remington action, but this was the first one I've bought factory since a .270 Mountina Rifle about 12 years ago,

Picture725-copy.jpg

.223
LVSF Model 700, wiht a B&C Stock
Stock Paiinted by Poole Creek Precsion
Talley Lightweigt rings/bases
Leupold VX III 4.5-14 with a Varmit Hunter reticle

The trigger has some creep in it, even after I adjusted it, but we will see how well it does at the range before I think about changing it. I already had it out once and shot a .80 5 shot group with UMC FMJ cheapo ammo, and with the factory set trigger of about 40 lbs..:)

Nice outfit - those triggers are great when they work, and a pain in the butt when they don't! A good trigger makes accurate shooting easier, but it looks like you're already doing fine in that regard. You might have to go the Jewel route. This the new grizzly gun you were talkin about? :D

I have a Jewel trigger on that custom Mdl 700. Really good trigger.

I will use htis rifle for everything, including grizzlies, but moslty it wil be a coyote gun...;)

My son removed the original trigger off his new Remington 700 and had a Shilen trigger installed. It is a very nice trigger and quite a bit less expensive than a Jewel trigger.

that is very nice....:) ...a floorplate assembly would finish it off nicely.....hey, get that trigger down around 30lbs and you'll feel the difference....40lbs is too high:D

Guntech siad he could remove the creep, and I will send the trigger to him after I do some load testing, see how it works...:)

The creep is very noticable- It is like a 2 stage trigger- Pull up a litle slack, and then squeeze lightly and boom! (I have set it to 2.75 lbs according to my trigger scale)

The 2 stage trigger design wors well, but I relaly dont' think that this trigger was designed to be a 2 stage!:D

All hunting rifles I own have a hinged floorplate- But I will probbaly just leave the blind magazine as it is.

I can get by wiht a blind mag on a coyote rifle...Thank god it's nto a detach mag! ;)

Hell, my midlife cris started a couple of years ago when I was 36 and I hooked up with my 19yr old GF....

Thakfully, I still remember that to me, a big game rifle isn't a PF, but a coyote rifle can be!:) ;) :p

:D :D Well my friend all I can say is I hope you don't get charged by a pack of rabid coyotes and have the dreaded PF jam... Seriously, I think you will be safe with your mighty Remington in the deadly .223 ;)

Very nice gun. I wish I could just like around $2000 for a gun/scope package. Must be nice. I guess I could but I don't want to yet. Well have fun with it. Did it come painted like that or did you paint it?
