New rifle for the pile - TGF 1950

The TGF 50 contract was characterized by a unique stamped magazine/triggerguard assembly and swivelling front swivel in a late war style stock with the bolt takedown hole in the buttplate, not a stock washer.

Your other rifle looks like a correct TGF, the new one has a milled triggerguard, early stock hole and standard solid front swivel (it is on backwards btw, swivel slot should be on left side), so I suspect it has been restocked.

Parts are numbered, as is the stock, so it should be easy to confirm.

Nice rifles.

very nice rifles, the TGF1950 i have has the same type stock as the rifle in the top pic, mine as the winter trigger guard .Good shooter and like new condition K98

I suspect this one has been put together from more than one rifle. The stock is altogether too "new" to be original from those days when the TGF 1950 was made, regardless of which rifle it was originally on. Whoever did the "copy" made a very nice job. I would love to find the source for those stocks. They would be a nice way to put some of those old "sporters" back to a semblance of what they looked liked.

Edit: Yes, I noticed the backwards sling holder!

Yes, a source for stocks for all the sporterized k98ks would be great.

Post-war Czech 98ks are under appreciated. Quality build, interesting variations and used in a lot of post-war conflicts.

Beautiful rifles you have there, Sir.

Hey, never noticed that on mine! Yeah, there's the hole.
