New Ross Need Info

@RRCo: Oh well, at least it wasn't "Plymouth Ho""!

So, from the look of your number, we now know that there was at LEAST a full Battalion of Marines..... or something..... at Priddy's Hard. We will get back to the RMLI and see if they can provide any particulars as to staffing. Thanks very much; this is a real help.

The "other forum" to which you refer would have been Milsurps (where I post) or GB (where BUFFDOG has been keeping folks up to date). This is an intriguing historical question about something which was, at one time, very big nd very important. The records likely all were burned in the heavy bombing of Portsmouth 70-odd years ago, but we now are putting it all back together now..... almost a century later.... and in full view for everyone..... and it is taking the combined efforts of people on at least three continents (so far).

What a wonderful hobby this is!

I agree with Smellie-fine rifle. I own quite a few However, I somewhat disagree with his statement that nothing can beat a Mk III Ross. I would stack a 1905 Mk II** against one. Of course, before the M10 Mk III came along, the Mk II**were known as the Mk III, so..........
