New RPAL after long wait

What kind of questions do they ask in the RPAL interview? I'm in Ontario btw.

Just called in as I had missed their call.

They asked me why I wanted my RPAL (target shooting/IPSC obv) & how long I've known my references.

Also,

Have you...

Been treated for depression or depressed, addicted to drugs, suicidal, convicted of crimes, lost your job, filed for bankruptcy, had a break down, had a divorce, etc, etc.

Its pretty much 5 minutes of just saying "No"

My wife's references were called two week ago but she never received a call. She waited the 28 days and called to see if it was in progress. Was told that two calls and one letter had been sent out but we never received either. The next day the status shows approved and should be received in two weeks time.

So pretty much its not really a personal interview, they are just asking questions that are simple yes/no?

Thanks so much.

Yeah it's just a questionnaire. Don't get me wrong though, that lady was making it very clear that I had better be telling the truth :p

What was funny is that they said they had called me at a time and they hadn't and the same for one of my references. He had no missed calls or anything.

I got my stamped marks a week after my instructors sent them off.

Lucky! Around Christmas time is when mine got sent in and I think they were experience a backlog then

I guess I'm not sure why my copy needs to be stamped to be 'proper'?

The day I was tested I completed the rest of my paperwork and mailed it, 25 days later I had an RPAL in my mailbox (myself and both references contacted).

I'm okay with the way we do it here ;)

Yea I agree it seems a little too cautious to make you send results to get stamped. But oh well you gotta jump through the hoop to get the prize I guess.

Having the firearms centre in NB probably helps. Looks like it takes 10-14 days to send them west.
