Has anyone got one of these yet? Are they available from any of our dealers here yet? A range report would be nice.... ;)

I've shot a friends original Bearcat and am wondering if the new ones live up. $600 seems a little steep for a .22 revolver when the Single Six goes for about $550 but the one I shot was sure a sweet little gun.

Edit: Just realised that the New model isn't that new (1993) but I believe that they just started producing them with a barrel long enough that they can be imported to Canada.

I have an old model Bearcat three screw. And you know its small even compared to the Single Six. It shoots great and accurate. I wont ever sell mine. Id like to try shooting CCI stingers in it. I think because of the barrel length (4inch) they are 12/6. Because of this I dont think Ruger will be importing them to Canada any time soon. Are they making the new ones with longer barrels?

pretty much all of ruger's 4" barrels are being made to 4.2" for use in Canada, California and the other states (can't remember which ones) that have similar laws according to barrel length that we do ^.^ good on ya ruger

Now, if only they made a DA .22lr revolver @.@

Thanks for the link. Hadn't looked at Doc Rowland's in a while.

Kind of odd that the Bearcat is the same price as the Single Six given that its smaller, not stainless and only comes with one cylinder. Will have to shop around if I go to buy one I guess.

Until quite recently they made a 4" SP101 in .22lr. IMHO, that gun at 4.2" restricted length would sell like crazy in Canada. I know I'd buy one.

I'd read on the web that they did make one, and I 100% agree with you. It'd be like the 4.2" GP100's, they wouldn't be able to keep them on the shelves
