I got to handle one of the new ruger Marlin .44 magnum rifles today at my local crappy tire,I will say it's a beauty of a rifle ,smooth action like it's already had hundreds of rounds through it,bluing is beautiful, the dark walnut stock and forarm are very nice, sling with really nice checkering that provides a very nice grip.

I was very impressed with how smooth a brand new rifle was.if I didn't already have too many .44 magnums I would have grabbed it.these new ruger Marlins are coming on the market and making great impressions.the fit and finish of the wood was also incredible.just an all around beauty of a lever gun coming from ruger.

I am looking forward to when the supply reaches the demand. I would like to handle one for myself too. The only ones I have ever seen are pictures of them online after the scalper has bought it and is trying to resell it for a few hundred profit. I am looking forward to when those days are over. I might actually buy one.

What was the price on it?

Long gone are the days when hunters bought lever bush guns because they were the cheapest option. To me, that was their biggest asset.

yup, and all firearms period!....as the current crooks in Ottawa make Canada a undesirable place for manufacturers to export too, our prices are going to be in the 1500-2000 range now for most budget firearms regardless. And the opportunist Clowns (yes, you know who you are:jerkit:) on the many selling forums are going to continue to buy up limited available stock then try to gouge us even more.

I thought I would mention that a friend of mine bought the .44 magnum and we went to the range Thursday with 100 rounds of american eagle 240 grain hollow point, and left with brass lol, this rifle is excellent ,the groups it put down range very close to one hole at 50 yards /open sights,at 100 yards they were bigger but not more than 3 inches,no scope on it so open dights at 100 really covered the bullseye.

I'm a lever gun guy and most of my rifles are levers ,I have one JM Sbl that shoots as good as this one,the rest don't compare.very impressed with what Ruger has done to Marlin lever guns.ill have one as soon as I find one I can afford.

Curious about trhe uproar over the price of these new rifles. Used Marlin 1894s in 357Mag anf JM 1894s in 44mag go for $1500 over past 2 years.
