Now all of a sudden your pulling a .257 Ackley target barrel outta your hat  got a rabbit in there too :p

In regard to bullet tip as others have said the bent, damaged, flattened tip makes little to no diff in accuracy in the New Ruger Mini or most other average hunting rifles.

If it were so there'd sure been a pile of lost game running around due to tip damage of various kinds from clips, tube fed rifles & tip battering in the mag!
:D
The point was you keep making stupid comments about my shooting abilities.
I don't care what you shoot, Deformed bullets will not be accurate!
Proven time & time again. I showed your comment to some target class shooters I know.
So now your a world class fool!
I'm finished with this thread & your stupid armature comments.
Go grind down all your ammo for all I care
:runaway: :slap:

I remember when I used to use a load in my 7RM using 175gr Nosler Partitions.

I used to fret over the way the tips woudl get banged up in the magazine, so to learn how badly it affected accuracy, I left 3 rounds in the magazine and shot multiple groups while single loading.

All the groups were the same, just under an inch at 100 yards, which is what that load generally shot.

Then I shot a group with the battered tip bullets..And they were REALLY battered, pretty flattened....went just under an inch, at 100 yards.

So I'd say that for the purposes of this application, filing down some bullet tips so they fit your Mini magazine, is not going to affect accuracy in any really measurable way. Besdies you can always try them.

Yea maybe of your just going hunting or happy with 1" groups.
Have you ever notice Match grade ammo? It's polish, perfect form. no lead tips. We used match grade ammo for shooting varmits in the field because of the accuracy. But I guess if your just plinking it don't matter to most.
But if a person says It makes no difference? try using them at a varmit class or even a bullseye match, you'd be lucky to come it about 200th. I even shot a 1/2" group at a match once I didn't even make the top 10.
Remember 1' at 100 yards. is O.K. for a fun shoot. but try 1000 yards with the same ammo, you'd be surprized.
But as for the Mini 30 even that crappy euro soft point will hit the target.
but don't adjust the scope too offten, you'll go nuts trying to zero it!

I think this started with a guy asking about a mini 30 & how it was.
we all gave him some advise, the next thing I know some fool is telling me some kind of nonsence about filling down bullets???
Wow . by the way I took my wolf hybreds out for a wizz tonight while I loaded the furnace. the den mother nailed a rabbit. she didn't even use a gun!!! L.O.L., She's a real hunter! :sniper:

Also I wouldn't mind finding some more Mini 30 mags if anyone has some for sale,
but not eagle mags, they break & they company is out of business,
so no warranty,
