New! Ruger RPR rimfire trainer!

His RAR compact with a sporter barrel is less accurate than my heavy barrel laminate MKII. But I think compared to a stock, sporter barrel MKII it'd be about equal. Plus it doesn't jack up on extraction like my MKII does.

Mine was pretty flawless when it came to reliability as well, then again so were my friends mkii. I've had my cz for a very short time so I can't comment on its reliability other than for this short duration it has been perfect as well. And that's the same gun I had as well. The compact with the 18 inch threaded barrel. Seemed to like federal automatch a lot.

Synthetic is no go, might as well slap an MDT rimfire on a savage mkll and you would be ahead, it should do a decent trainer.

If you’re old enough, you’ll remember a time when people said the same thing about aluminum... ;)

I think the glass-filled nylon receiver cover will be just fine for a gun like this. The receiver itself is still steel and the barrel and hand guard attach the receiver, not the polymer receiver cover. I don’t see a downside. Especially at this price point.

But that said, to each his own. The aftermarket is broad enough to cater to everyone’s tastes!

It's not a quality concern but a ''feeling'' concern.
Not in the market for a trainer, if i'd be i'd want that sucker to weight at least 12 pounds.
CZ 455 also make a nice tactical trainer with manners stock.

Now that would be a fun gun! A whole different t price range but awesome.

Have any of the CZ trainers made their way tonCanada at all? I was trying to find one earlier this year but the consensus at the dealers I spoke to was that we wouldn’t see them up here. I gave up looking but it would be nice to see one in person.

Irunguns can bring them in, I almost got one but saved the money and got a regular cz455. In my experience the accuracy is pretty much the same between my basic model and the trainer, but if you want the ergos of a tact sniper style gun it feels like the real deal... mostly because the stock is the real deal. To be honest seeing how expensive manners stocks are by themselves looking back I should have gotten it anyways because it does have better field ergos than the basic polymer stock I have on mine. If you get it you won't regret it.

Now the question for me is does anyone have a vudoo gun works v-22. I want one of those with an aics.

The most interesting part of this rifle is the bit about the bolt throw being the same as a short action centrefire. Much better for muscle memory than the short bolt throw on most .22s

So do I but I dunno when the day will come that I'll be able to justify $1700USD for a .22 barrelled action...

Appeal for me is the CRF action and I can have an AICS replica of the real deal and practice with 22lr. Not sure I'll go for it, just an idea. I want to know if it's as good as they are claiming because like you said that's a lot of money for a 22lr.
Or I could simply stuff my cz on a mdt chassis and have a tac style trainer.

Oh I agree and I've def thought about it. I certainly shot my MkII TR a ton this summer when the fire danger had us only shooting at 100 yards. Thing is I'm getting a 26" .223 barrel spun up for one of my R700s and I'll just swap barrels back and forth so it will be exactly my match rig just in a cheaper caliber. I did the math and if using 55s, I can shoot .223 for about $0.28/round vs what, $0.10/round for cheap .22? Seeing as I already had a .223 bolt and got a takeoff .223 barrel from the EE, there's a huge price discrepancy between that route and a V-22. Not to mention that I can use my .223 for out to 500 yards (further if I work up a load with 75s but then that's $0.38/round) and the recoil of an unbraked .223 is pretty close to a braked 6mm...

A vudoo would be pretty sweet for Rimfire matches though.

Hopefully this rimfire turns out well and someone will make a replacement stock for it.
