Something arrived in the mail today :p

I have been wanting a SP-101 since Ruger stated they would be making a 4.2" barrel.

Registration cert lists it at 107mm.

This gun is NICE and was actually quite cheap at under $700.

Trigger is very good single action. A bit heavy double action but very smooth.

These are iPhone pics and it looks alot better in person.

Triple K Sportsman Holster. This will be fun at the range.

Next to a S&W K frame and G17.

Can't go wrong with a Ruger and the options for the ammo make it practical at the range.
Can't see any problems with the pictures..phones have come a long way.
I shoot a lot of black powder handguns and the 1847 Walker has about the same power as a .357 Magnum with a 4 inch barrel but it weighs four and a half pounds and has a 9 inch barrel...guns have come a long way as well.

You've got the holster. So now see if you can get some speed loaders for it and come join us out in Chilliwack for some IDPA fun with your new toy... :D

I thought it might look a bit odd for such a small gun with a "long" barrel. But it's not bad at all. Darn nice looking in fact.

I am actually going camping next week in black bear county.

This is 100% the perfect trail gun.

Sigh, I live in Canada

I will take the shotgun which is legal but this would be alot handier.

Oh well.....

Loaders on on order actually. :)

Now I know why this is called a "kit gun"

It's actually very small and handy.

Much more so then a G17.

Looks awesome man. I am going to have to cHeck one out. I have a 4.2" redhawk and I had to do the mainspring change to make the trigger usable. I don't know why ruger can't figure out triggers...

Lovin the SP101 though.

I was looking at one of these in Minnesota a couple of weeks ago, they're nice guns. I liked the grip, I have small hands and it felt very nice to hold. I was actually hoping to check out the .22lr version but the .357 was pretty sweet, definitely on my want list.

Shot it this weekend. :D

It's extremely accurate shooting at 25M.

Total pussycat with .38 Special loads.

Using Federal .357 Magnum 158gr JSP (1240 fps) it's got quite the kick especially with the small grip.

A GP100 is 40 ounces and the SP101 is only 29.
