looks like a 4in to me (prohib) personally I don't see the point of a rail on a revolver... I guess I just don't buy into this 'tactical' hype...

I was refering to what looks like a set screw at the top rear of the sideplate under the cylinder release, and the light coloured area directly below almost touching the S&W crest.

I'd wondered if the set screw could be an internal safety like the hammer mounted version on the Taurus or Rossi revolvers. With the area below the cylinder latch coloured differently, i wondered if it was a manual safety like the NYPD Transit guns.
