New savage 10FP

Robertson

I haven't seen the McMillans or the HS Precisions.

The Robertson is much better than either the Choate (bulky & heavy) or the OEM / regular Savage (not very rigid).

+1 for Roberston. :)

anyone seen the new 10fp with the HS-Presion stocks on them ?anyone know the price ? are they in canada yet?
Saw one at the sportsman show. Very nice. However, the stock had a green/black pattern to it which I didn't like. Just my opinion.

As Rubikahn states the HS stocked LE2B has green vein in it, the stock is similar in design to the McMillan, but it is slimmed out along the barrel and has less of a pistol grip.
The new shipments should start showing up in Canada over the next few weeks. Prices will be slightly lower than the McMillan stocked rifles.
Not available in 300 win mag, and apparently no immediate plans for it, so for now it is 308 only.
Personally I still prefer the McMillan stocked model

Custom stocks are nice, but it all comes down to the man behind the trigger.

That nails it. I respect the man with the rifle he can really shoot no matter how it looks rather than the poser with the pretty rifle that can't shoot...;) :p

This 10FP is the short action (.223, .308) the 110FP is the long action (25-06,
300 WIN MAG) Both are offered with the regular Savage, Choate or McMillan stock. The Price of the 10FP and 110FP are the same I believe:confused:. These prices I got from Lebaron's in Mississauga:
Base model 10FP .308 - $625.94
HS Precision stock - $870.72
Choate stock - $ 760.72
McMillan stock - $1041.27

I would like to get one but I'm wary of paying that much for a stock without having shouldered one. Would it be a cheaper route to buy a barreled action and buy the stock direct from McMillan? Is the A2 stock they offer compatible with an adjustable cheek peice/LOP spacers from McMillan?
Anyone got one in the GTA I could take for a test run? There's a beer in it for ya! :D - DML

The 10fp is short action the 110fp is long action. Both have tupperware stocks
BUT the 10fple2A s are 223 and 308 only these wear the Choate stocks
The LE2Bs either with McMillan or HS stocks come in 308 only
To purchase a stock from either HS or McMillan will nearly be the same money as buying the entire rifle, so this is a poor economical choice.
We probably will not see many LEs in Canada this year, it seems Savage has managed to screw up on their permits, I have a large order placed , but was told until their permit issue is resolved they can not ship them

Sad to hear that. Heard that Remington ain't in hurry, to ship any of the LE's anytime soon too.
