Hey guys,
I see Savage has their 12 series of Long Range Prec. Varminters in a dual port. Left load, right eject, right bolt. The .223 in 1/9 is avail. I am 'old school' thought on this that the more steel around your cartridge the better. But I must admit I have heard of some BR actions that have or had them too. One would think there would be some more flexing of the action due to firing stress, but, well, here they are. And in 6BR too! Anyone have one, in 223 or 6BR and care to comment on how accurately they shoot. Anyone else with experience and comments on the dual port type actions, jump on in.

The actions are quite nice. Unlike a typical hunting action, these actions have material top and bottom. This is where you need it to keep the action symetrical. When you shoot the cartridge, it is buried deep in the barrel/chamber, not in the action.

To be honest, I think it is fair to say that this rifle - as good as it is - would not reveal any poential shortcomings with respect to accuracy as a result of a 2-port design. (not that i feel there would be any regardless) True custom BR guns are on a completely different level.
