Ordered a t-bolt varmint in 17 HMR this week and I need to find some glass for it. Want to keep it simple, a 3-9x40 for $200 or less. Rifle will be used for groundhogs and some target shooting. Was considering a redfield but its hard to find one under $240 when last year you could get them for $199. Now I'm leaning towards a prostaff, I have an older one on my slug gun and am happy with it and the new ones should be better yet. Another option in this price range would be a trophy but i did a side by side comparison with it and a redfield last year and it blew the trophy away. Anyone with experience with these scopes or something else I missed? Thanks.

usually when we shoot rimfires it is at the brightest time of day, with your 17 you may wish to shoot past 100 yards, If 200 is your price range I'd look at a 4-12 or 6-18 Bushnell Banner. I have a couple 4-12 Trophys on a couple of hornets and stuff I aim at falls over most every time. FS
