I just bought a vx3. The magnification dial is so sticky I can barely move it. Does any one know how to fix this? What is the set screw for on the dial also?
Thanx

Try working it back and forth a bit. Maybe try contacting the Korth Group for info...

WARNING: Do not loosen the screw in the power selector ring. Doing so will release the internal gas that keeps the scope fog free. Loosening the screw will also disconnect a pin that controls the internal operations, causing other problems that would require factory repairs. Do not lubricate the power selector ring; doing so is unnecessary.

The VX111's I have owned have all had stiff power selector rings. The tolerances are close to ensure reasonably consistent point of impact is retained throughout the power range . As previous poster said -- a rear ring that is torqued too tight can add to the resistance felt. B&L used to have a setup where you turned the entire ocular assembly to adjust power. While not as elegant as the Leupold - it was fast - gave more mechanical advantage and was easy to operate with gloves when hunting in the cold - as many of us do here in Canada.

Send it to Korth, they will fix it. I have seen this on a few VX3's lately and a few more VX2's.

Yes, a large percentage of the VXIIIs are very stiff to turn, although I haven't found any that bad that I've had to send any in for repair. I guess it all depends on what you can tolerate. The newer VX3 don't seem hardly as bad.
