new set up - like?

I tried these Vortex Q/R rings for the first time .... I don't like 'em, they're too fiddly. ( I think these might actually be made by Warne?)
Also, I prefer the horizontal split as opposed to the vertical split, for both form and function.

Anybody have some low 30mm TPS rings they want to sell?

Personally I like them. You are correct that they are a little "fiddly" to set up but once you have used them a few times you get the hang of it. The most important thing to remember when using vertical split rings is that the bottom screws MUST be fully tightened BEFORE you tighten up the top set. Nice looking rig!

There is a pretty significant drop on a swiss arm's stock. It's not an AR.


IMO looks like the ideal optic for a flattop swiss arms. I wish I could mount a scope like that on mine but the irons are in the way.

TPS lows are the way to go indeed (or Extra-Low, I can't remember between TPS and NF which has lower rings). I get my TPS from Rick at AB Tac Rifle. The low mag variables are my favorite on most Swiss Arms

That's why I jumped on this flat top. I had a classic green with the drum sights many years ago but sold it when I just couldn't mount an optic the way I wanted to.

I get a perfect cheek weld looking through the scope mounted at this height.
It might look too low, but it's not.

I'm running a 3.5-10x40mm Mark 4 and I need a riser that's about 3/4" high. So shorter than the SAN cheek riser else I have to get higher rings to compensate for the high riser. I can just imagine what that would look like.

Now I'm going downstairs to see just how much clearance I have between my objective and the handguard.

I've seen some scopes mounted so high they look like the Swiss version of a carry- handle!

I would just run the irons if my eyes were good enough. But they're not, so I need to scope, and the flat top works for me!

Yes those look to be Warne rings. Zeiss are also Warne rings just rebadged.

Yes harder to get setup. But.. I actually think they are a better design for holding the scope once the scope is mounted. I have the same rings on my Swiss Arms target. They are Zeiss branded but yes Warne rings. I have both and they are 100 percent identical except for the little label on the Zeiss ones.

I wouldn't change a thing. Those rings also compliment the overall shape of the Swiss Arms better than the conventional ones. You have a nice looking setup. If the height is right I'd leave it as is.
