New shooter looking to get a solid foundation on a 22. Am I doing this right?

i got a tikka t1x, great gun, magazine fed, shoots well. Rimfires are great rifles to shoot. they help you practice and allow you to put thousands of rounds down the tube without breaking the bank. whichever gun you decide on, i think everyone here has given you great advice. pick something youre comfortable with. the Tikka comes in a bit lower than CZ price wise but is very good. my first rimfire was a marlin, i had lots of issues with fail to ejects and fail to feed. i still have it, but am keeping it as a varmint gun on my property, where i know i wont need a second one in the chamber. you get what you pay for as with any firearm, but in the rimfire world, spending 5-6 hundred is a good benchmark for a very capable, reliable rifle.

It's a great coincidence that this thread just popped up again. I am in the exact same situation as the OP :)

Looks like there are a lot of good options to start. I was also told to look into the Savage B22 FV.
Now i just need to way for the card in the mail and have the visa ready to go.
