That is very sweet. 9mm I believe? I have a Sig P226 2-tone in 9mm and it is a great gun, you will love it. I also just picked up a used gun from this forum a H&K USP Custom Sport.

Are those Houge grips?

Yah, 9mm Para and those are indeed Hogue grips, $20 off eBay, new.

I'm in the market for a P226R in 9mm. Coming up on the "new fiscal firearms purchase year" for me and I said to hell with buying a rifle for moose season...

Any veteran Sig owners have suggestions as to what to look for? Does $1100 new (before tax) seem reasonable, or is there a dealer who can do better?

If you're getting a stainless one. For a standard model, I would be tempted to get a refurbished one for 750 from TSE.

if you look hard enough, there are refurb 9mm and .357/.40 guns around. Just as good. Some come with nite sights and even have the hogue grips packaged with them (like mine :).

The only complaint i have is that the .40 barrel that came with mine needed to be fitted as it had a feeding issue- thats a minor problem though as the refurbs come with 1yr warranty from sig themselves and my shop had it fixed with no problems.

the guns are very accurate, and reliable. i have a p226 .357/.40 thats currently my ipsc shooter and i have no complaints at all.

Yes they do
Not the regular 226. The only non-rail model still in production is the SAS (two tone, DAK trigger, wooden grips and rounded edges for easier concealment).

My Sig 226 R is only picky with ammo that is loaded to long. The problem I see is when I goto chamber a round. Sometimes it will jam. But after I fix it, It will go through all the rounds without a problem. I just see that problem once in awile.
