Well, I got another, used, the price was right, good shape, came with some extras (springs and a bit of Romanian corrosive) and some parts will come in useful for the Claire 19 project.. Eventually I'll put Claire's furniture on this one to make it look old-school. Already shot her (about the same as Claire), cleaned her and gave her a proper lubing. She's back in the safe.

Additional notes:

1) This stock is a God-send for the XCR mag project as I won't shed any tears over removing material to make the XCR mag fit

2) Same goes for the gas tube for when I crapco Claire as it had already been removed before, so it will be more manageable than the original gas tube on Claire

Eventually the stock and the gas tube/block from Claire will go to this rifle and then I'll either sell, keep it and then possibly sell it if she becomes a safe queen

Considering the time spent on the project, even if you value your time at minimum wage it's cheaper to take to a smith or a machinist 5x over lol Still, I'm doing it for the educational value, as a public service and with the goal of not spending too much money-wise on this rifle.
 
Nice rifle, but your picture sort of makes it seem like I'm looking at it through beer goggles. :D

Can never have just one SKS, I have five and am thinking about a sixth sometime soon. I also have a plan to get at least three others that I can't find or afford at the moment.

I am the same, I am trying to decide either to add a 4th SKS to the 3 I already have or maybe pick up one of those M-305 shorty...the Wife lets me get one Firearm purchase a Year.....;)

Yes honey, I got it for fifty bucks.. Won this one on a bet.. Won another and traded it for that one :cool: Actually I'm keeping my spending pretty reasonable, so she hasn't been complaining. Guns are costing me less than smokes lol
