1950 Russian Refurb. Refinished the stock and added a buttpad extension- other than that, stock out of the box.
Shot Czech corrosive, no jams or issues at all.

25 Yards:

Shot from a bench. Was quite impressed with the accuracy.
Stock sights are a little hard to get used to. These were only 4" targets.

4-shots @ 25 yards

Another 4-shots @ 25 yards

100 yards was interesting, considering I only had orange on white targets left over.
Quite hard to see and was a bit windy and rainy. I feel confident I could achieve a better grouping
with a black on white target next time out. Never had to adjust elevation from the 25 yard sight setting.

This was the best one.

5 shots @ 100 yards

Overall, very happy and a fun rifle to shoot. I hate to say it, but I enjoy it more than my old AR.
- mainly for the fact it has a bit more kick to it and a lot cheaper to feed. Best $300 I ever spent on a firearm.

Keep rockin!

Your 100 yard groups are way better than mine, but your 25 are exactly the same!
At 100 I was about 10 inches and almost cried! lol.

Haha, wipe those tears away and keep at it. The target makes a difference -
I like using the Black 100 yard (Dirty Bird) that let you see where you hit.
Its especially helpful if just using the iron sights.

Part of my problem too is that my front sight must have been tweaked in shipping. I have to aim 1" to the right to hit the centre of the target at 25 yards (I've tried two different types of ammo and it's the same). Need to figure out how to adjust it for windage. It looks like you just push out one of the pins and move the sight, then re-insert pin, eh?

you need a front sight adjusting tool from trade-ex , only $10 .

I am amazed people can hit what they do with iron sights. At about 25 yards I can hit consistantly near center of the target at 75 yards Most my shots don't even touch the target. Although I find extending the bayonette helps accuracy at longer ranges (but its annoying to clean off 200 rounds worth of soot after)

I'm sure this is the shooter and not the gun though as I have 2 sks and they are both the same deal.

Hammer and socket set. The sight adjusters I have are bent into interesting shapes, but otherwise useless.

I find that I shoot my best iron sight, 100 yard groups with a large, black, inverted triangle. You POA is the lower apex and you just put the top of your front post on it and can still see the tapering triangle above the POA.

Here's a 100 yard, OEM iron sight group with my Chinese milsurp SKS shooting Norinco silver box from the bench.

Similar to Geologist's idea is the old 25 yard .303 target the CF and Cadets used to use. I don't have one to post, but you can see it in "Shoot to Live" and a lot of CF manuals.

It is a "half a bullseye". Instead of a black circle, you only get the top half of the bullseye. Instead of a six o'clock hold on a full bullseye, you put the tip of the front sight on the flat bottom of the half circle.

I tried the tech sight front post with the issue rear sight at the range today, I guess I was having an off day because I didn't have any good groups, I was trying to get the windage on with the Tapco tool and could not get it quite on which was distracting, oh well, for my next trick I will remove the issue rear and install my Tech 200 sight and retry next weekend, fwiw, I had more success with my #5 MKI, had some nice (for me groups) 3-4 Inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards, once I figured out I had to crank up the range to 300 to get them in there at 100  It's amazing how your groups shrink when you check / tighten the kingscrew. . .
