I got a case of Czech surplus at Elwood Epps. Thanks to the tips on this site, opening the can, with the help of a monster screwdriver to lever the rings from the solder, was not difficult.

While at Epps, I investigated an ATI stock. It was a lovely thing, but the spike bayonet would have to go. I think the bayonet is an essential part of the character of the gun.

Still, the stock is too short and low.

So, I'll fire off a few zillion rounds this week and go from there.

Oh, yeah, and I'll have a spray of diluted ammonia at the range with me. Usually, no one is close enough to be bother by the stink. I hope.

Or, how about just Windex?? Comments?

Windex will work fine.
But ammonia is for copper anyway.

I use break free.

But then again I'm only 20min drive from the range. So really unless you are doing an all day drive, I'd not worry about cleaning your SKS right away.
