new SmithWesson MP40, shooting low?

whats up people, i went to the range this morning with my brand new MP40 and shot some nice groupings but all were low by about 8 inches at 15 meters or so. i asked another member at the range to shoot it and he got the same results. Ammo was Wolf 180gr. thanks for any input on how to solve this! different front sight perhaps or different ammo?

Just for starters...what was your sight picture?

Yup, probably using a "6 o'clock" hold, but the pistol has combat sights.... dot has to cover your intended target zone.

i align my 3 dkts and the center dot goes on the bullseye so that i cant see it

I have had the same problem with several M&Ps, some Glocks and a FNS. Solution has been to buy Dawson Precision fibre optic front sights. I get a lower and skinnier one.

i will look into that thanks! any hints on how to choose a lower one? no clue about the specs of the original one

I have 2 that I use and the older ones is great and the new one shoots like yours. Slightly irritating, maybe have to look into a new fron sight as well.
