>is this shot gun a decent gun?
28 inch carbon steel VR barrel, fixed modified choke, 3 inch chamber. The price is $250. + the taxes. Brand new in the box. My elderly neighbor (86) wants a shot gun for around the yard just in case he needs one. (shunks etc). He may or may not ever shoot it. He would like a s/a as first choice, however he would be happy with a pump.
>What do good used s/a's usually go for?
>What makes/models s/a's are known to be good?
>Would he be better off to look for a good used pump rather than the new Stevens 320?
He would prefer not to spend any more than he has to.
Thanks for your advise.

I would look for a used rem 870 or a mossy 500 ,or a older mod 12 or mod 37 ,these older guns have proved them self to outlast many shooters and be handed down from one generation to the next , a Ithaca 37 or a mossy 500 Winchester model 120 or model 12 ,rem 870 ,there are many of these kinds of guns on the markey for very little money that will put the one you mentioned to shame ,,,,,just do a little shopping around for a good used shotgun ,,,Dutch

we found the old boy a Winchester pump and a Winchester semi auto. Bought them both, gave him his choice, he took the semi, his eyes light up like saucers when he saw it. He had is heart set on a semi. He's one happy camper! Will sell the pump at our next gun show.
